Do-All Outdoors Dead Deer Iron Buck, Small,Silver

My son got a small 10-point buck this past year. I was not going to pay hundreds of dollars to get a shoulder mount. Honestly, I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars for any mount unless the deer was a whopper! This was a perfect candidate for a European skull mount, but I neither had the time, patience, or inclination to do that much work. Enter the Iron Buck Antler Mount Kit. For this, all you have to do is remove the skin around the antlers on the skull cap and cut it to fit in the mount. When you're done you have a really cool, modern-looking skull mount. I got the wall mounting bracket to finish it off. It looks great and was very easy to do. It was also MUCH cheaper than some other options.

Makes the mount look like a transformer or Robo deer, I love it. Easy to put together.

I wanted to comment. This is an excellent mount. Super fast and easy. Could not be happier. The only issue was my wife. She thought the metal looked Creepy. I guess she watched to many Terminator movies. Trying to get along I took the mount down and after a good hour I had the super hard finish removed. It is some sort of plastic material. I am a painter so I prepped the mount for paint. I decided to use Cerakote which is super tough in the Patriot brown color. The mount turned out looking great. Now the better half is happy, I am happy hell the dog is happy. In closing I would easily recommend this mount to anyone. The only thing that would be nice is to have it available in several colors. Camo, green,brown tan etc.

Very easy to do, and gives a unique look. Quality is decent. This is easy to do, but may need some extra work to get it just right. When cutting the skull cap, I suggest cutting it larger than the instructions suggest. The larger skull cap will give you plenty of material for you to further cut, grind and angle it for a precise fit at the antler angle you want. See pics where I angled the back of the cap. I also drove a screw from the rear into the top of the skull to help keep it at the preferred angle.

Having killed two bucks worthy display (by Southern standards anyways), I was looking for an alternative to the cheap antler mount you find in stores for the ‘lesser’ buck. I stumbled upon this great little find, but had some suspicions given the price. When I received the package, it was packaged well. First thought was the metal is a bit thin, but then again, it allows for some bending to make the metal skull more true to life after installing the skull cap and antlers. Skull cap had to be ground down a bit to make it lay in the mount to my liking, but this didn’t take more than 5 min or so on my grinding wheel. Got the antlers where I wanted them, made a few bends using my vice, and then simply tightened the mount using the longer of the screws provided. It really was the simple. Only took 15 min tops. Overall, it really gives a very cool look to the antlers without the work of cleaning a whole skull for a proper ‘European Mount.’ I’m really satisfied and look forward to sharing the story of the hunt with my friends as we admire the ‘Antler Art.’

Wanted to show how I combined the high quality mount with my 40 year old antlers. I really liked the metal European mount vs a plastic skull. But I wanted it on a display plaque. What I did was to use a Mountain Mike skull plate, with the metal mount and the mountain Mike display plaque. I used just a half of the plate. Painted it using stainless black Rust-Oleum spray paint to match the metal. Much better than having white plastic showing. Super easy to position and clamp between the metal. Mounted to the plaque. The only other modification I did was the plaque comes with an angled piece so that it would be slanted and to the wall. I cut the piece vertical. Screwed it together. Wife approved and instead of being relegated to the garage it is now in our living room. Highly recommend the metal European mount!

Very sturdy, long lasting display piece. One thing to be noted is depending on rack size you may have to grind away some steel on either opening for the antlers for an even perfect fit. I have a few of these, some over 10 years old. Still look like new.
