Works well - quality product
These mat's are heavy, and feel very durable. They connected easily and securely. First trial is today's snowfall. So far, so good.

Safety was a priority...these work great!
We get a lot of snow and ice on the doorstep of our house. We purchased two long, narrow mats to keep our entry steps ice free. They are incredible! Melting snow on our roof makes water drip all day, the mat keeps our entry safe.

Heated mat!
These are great for back door where doggies go out. We also use for getting out of hot tub. Way better than stepping on cold concrete. Deciding on buying another size!!

Good product - big money for full setup
They work well if the snow falls on the main part of them. We have a small metal roof door overhang that drops a small pile of snow on them. Because they are not real warm, the snow melts in a way that around the edges of the mat they form snow shelves that overhang the edges of the mat. Expensive, but way better than nothing.

READ THOROUGHLY
I suppose it's my own fault, I own that, but when I saw "matS" (plural) in the header I assumed it was a set of mats, especially because one of the pics was a long stairway and the description mentioned 14 steps, which is the number of steps on a standard deck. It's only ONE mat. A better header description would be nice. Not spending $1,600 on enough mats for my deck of 14 steps. Oh well. They're probably really good for a couple steps.

125 Watts Per Mat running.
I have had an ice problem for years. The snow would melt or fall off my roof then land on my stone steps and just melt and freeze over and over again. I can’t use salt or grit because it’s stone so this was my only option. So far great!! It melts snow at a significant rate and ice I’ll add. I put this newer bigger pad on top of ice and within hours the ice and water were gone. I would add more if it wouldn’t interfere with my snow removal. The only annoying thing about then is the one main cord getting on the way when you’re shoveling but I knew it would be. Each mat uses 125 Watts according to my Sense power meter. I would definitely buy again.

Made a walkway to my hot tub
I live in Ontario, Canada and we get a lot of snow. We recently put in a hot tub and want to use it year-round. Even though it is close to our door at about 15 feet, it was very icy and cold to make your way to the tub. So I ordered these heat mats to put down to make the walk safer and more enjoyable. I do not regret it one little bit, lol. We’ve had a ton of freezing rain and snow this winter and not one thing has stayed on these mats. I haven’t noticed much increase in my electricity bill. I used two 10” X 48” mats and one 20” X 30” walkway mat to complete our walkway. We haven’t had any issues with them this winter at all. Its so nice to get out of the tub and into the house barefoot in the middle of winter!

Pay attention
I bought the No-Slip Stair Heating Mats (10" x 48"). It is a bit of disappointment that at Amazon site and under "About this item", the description is a bit confusing (properly intentional) saying: Easy to Install - Your walkway mat easily plugs into a standard 120 volt outlet, so there is no electrical work required. Please note that the 120V power source is sold separately. So, it is left to you to understand with they mean by power source here ???? it does not mention clearly that HR-P Power Unit is required for each set of HeatTrak Residential Mats or each set of HeatTrak Industrial Stair Mats (120V). The Power Unit connects your system to a 120V electrical outlet. Without a HeatTrak Power Unit, these systems will not work. So, ultimately you have to buy the extra Power unit in order for the mat to operate. I just felt liek fooled by the way HEATTRAK tried to hide the necessity to buy specific HEATTRAK Power Unit (and not power source as mentioned under the description/details) . Another thing you need to be careful of is that HEATRAK do not provide shipping labels (i.e. you have to pay for any return)

Cannot plug in.
This mat requires a second piece to function. The company seems to think they are not bound by the Amazon A-Z guarantee. They issued a return label, but refuse to pay for the return.
